Hanging up boot planters

I love unexpected planters. I love a plant filled claw foot tub, but my hubby draws the line at bathrooms in the front lawn. 

I took a pair of my son's outgrown rain boots, cute ones with a rain gauge design on the side and made them into planters.  It's the end of summer, so we won't enjoy them for too long, but it gives a bit of a late summer boost to outdoor decor.

I cut holes in the bottom for drainage, took out the insoles, and put some styrofoam peanuts in the bottom for drainage.  

Then I filled them in with soil and added some end of season sale annuals. I put screws in my fence between the house and garage and hung them up by the loops.
